Fishing the North Coast is both a fishing guide service and a weekly fishing column written by myself with the help of several sport fishermen and river guides located in Humboldt and Del Norte County as well as information from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Fishing has been my passion since I was a child growing up in Lodi. I recently became a licensed fishing guide and am looking forward to showing others the fantastic fishing opportunities the North Coast has to offer.
In addition to river fishing, I have spent many years on the ocean fishing out of Fort Bragg, Eureka and Crescent City. I can help put you in touch with many Charter Boat Captains who fish out of Humboldt Bay and Trinidad as well as Crescent City.
Fishing the North Coast offers anglers year-round information on ocean sport fishing as well as information on the Klamath, Smith, Mad, Van Duzen, Eel and Chetco Rivers. My fishing column is published every Thursday in the Sports section of the Times-Standard newspaper and is also published on MyOutDoorBuddy and NorCal.FishReports.com. You can also find my weekly fishing report inside the Northern California Hotsheet. I have also written several articles for California Sportsman Magazine.
You can listen to my reports on the radio during the Outdoor Show out of Sacramento with Bob Simms on KFBK 1530 am or on the Let’s Go Fishing Radio Show out of Santa Cruz, KSCO 1080 am or on ESPN’s North Coast Game Night with JB Mathers at 1340 am out of Humboldt County on Mondays and Thursdays starting at 4 pm.
Fishing the North Coast specializes in information regarding Fall and Spring salmon and steelhead runs on the Lower Klamath River, Smith, Trinity, Mad, Van Duzen and Eel River.
